To join a campaign with a fundraising minimum, a fundraiser must provide their credit card details and agree to raise at least the minimum amount by the deadline(s) (milestone(s)) set by the charity. Export a report

First enter a name for your results in the Give a name to this view field. Click Save view, then click Export. A notification will be sent to your registered email address with a link to start the download.

Exported donation reports include all available information on any anonymous off-platform donations, although only the date and amount are publicly displayed in the donation list on your campaign page (and linked fundraiser page and event page, if applicable).

Scenario 1: The current charity account primary user needs their login details

Log in as a charity admin and go to Settings > System users. Click Add user and complete all fields. A password reset link and their charity account username will be sent to the new system user's inbox.

Scenario 3: The current primary user needs to replace their details with those of a new primary user

Log in as a charity admin and go to Settings > System users. Click Edit below Primary User, then complete all fields with the new primary user's information. When done, log out and send a charity password reset notification, including the charity account username, to the new primary user by using the Forgot password option on the charity login page with the new primary user email address.

Scenario 4: No charity account login details are available and the current primary user's details need to be replaced with those of a new primary user

If the previous charity account primary user is no longer available, send a request to GivenGain to make the primary user changes on your behalf. Your letter should be on the official letterhead of the organization and include the first name, last name and email address of the new primary user. Have the letter signed by an authorized board member and send a copy to support@givengain.com. The changes will be made and a charity password reset notification, including the charity username, will be sent to the new primary user by email.

A donation may fail for several reasons:

Insufficient funds in your account
The donation pushes your card payments over the daily payment card limit
Your card has expired
The card or account details are incorrect

In some rare cases, a bank may decline your donation after it was initially processed, as banks occasionally perform random checks to ensure the donation was intended.

Your bank may also flag the donation because the GivenGain Foundation is based in Switzerland (for donations to non-US charities) and therefore possibly outside your country. This is a standard security response from some banks, but the restriction can be lifted by your bank.

If your donation has failed, please speak to your bank to find out why and what can be done to fix the error. Once the problem has been fixed or avoided, return to the donation page on GivenGain and try to donate again.

If the donation has failed because of something on your bank's side:

If the donation has failed because of your bank, GivenGain will be unable to determine why, because banks cannot disclose that information to anyone except the bank account holder.

If the donation continues to be declined and your bank has confirmed that it has not been declined by them:

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid allows charities and Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASCs) to receive an extra 25p for every £1 donated, so more money goes to the causes you care about at no extra cost to you. Charities and CASCs claim the benefit (which would otherwise have been taxed at 25%, the basic rate of donor tax) from HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC).

Is my donation eligible for Gift Aid?

Only donations made by UK taxpayers qualify for Gift Aid.

HMRC regulations state that Gift Aid cannot be claimed on a donation if:

it was made on behalf of someone else or a group of people
it was made on behalf of a company
it was made to a family member or friend participating in an event and the charity paid some of their costs of participation
the donation was made in return for goods, rights or services.

For a charity to claim Gift Aid on your donation, you must make a Gift Aid declaration. You can do this by ticking the Gift Aid box on the GivenGain donation page during the donation process. It confirms that you are a UK taxpayer and that Gift Aid may be claimed on your donation.

What if I don't live in the UK?

UK taxpayers living overseas can still claim Gift Aid.
