How Donations Reach Your Account
- Secure hold: donations are held for 14 days for security and processing. They appear as “Pending” in your dashboard until cleared.
- Fees: GivenGain takes a 5% platform fee plus payment processing costs. Donors can cover fees, and over 90% do, so most donations go fully to your charity. On average, charities keep 97%+.
- Gift Aid (UK only): claims are handled automatically, with the bonus arriving 8 to 10 weeks later.
When and How Transfers Happen
- Clearing and timing: batch transfers are processed every Monday. Your donation is included once it has completed the 14-day holding period. International transfers may take slightly longer due to intermediary bank processing times.
- Direct to bank: transfers are automated, with no manual requests required.
- Minimums and currencies: transfers are batched by currency. If the balance is below the minimum threshold (set in Settings > Transfers), funds are held until the threshold is met. Small local (intermediary) fees may apply to international transfers.
- Timeline: after batching, funds typically arrive within 3 to 5 business days for local transfers and 6 to 10 business days for international transfers.
